Male Face Procedures

Surgical facial procedures for men are becoming increasingly popular. The results obtained, when performed with precision, can create subtle enhancements to match most masculine cosmetic and structural goals.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is an option for those who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their nose, whether it is the shape of the bridge, nasal tip, nostrils, or a combination of factors. The procedure can correct a misshapen or injured nose, or a deviated septum getting in the way of your breathing. It’s performed either one of two ways, depending on the various structural and aesthetic problems that require surgical correction:

Open and closed rhinoplasty

Depending on the current shape, size, projection, or functional problems of the nose, Dr. Lee may perform the procedure from within the nasal cavity (a “closed rhinoplasty”). In this case, there is no visible scarring. On the other hand, during an “open rhinoplasty”, a small incision is placed at the base of the nose between the nostrils (columella). This approach leaves a small scar, but it allows for greater surgical control. Rhinoplasty, when performed correctly and with advanced techniques, can create a masculine, balanced nose shape that highlights the rest of your features.

Chin augmentation for facial balance

Chin augmentation can create a much more masculine contour of the chin and jawline. For those desiring a more prominent chin, fat grafting, dermal fillers or implants can achieve natural but noticeable results. Liposuction can also be performed to reduce a double chin, with the added benefit of improved chin contour. The approach that best reflects your personal goals will be determined with Dr. Lee during your private consultation at PERK. Every chin is different and will require a customized treatment plan.

Facelift

A facelift is the most comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation, with results that last up to 15 years, or longer. A facelift smooths deep lines and wrinkles, taking years off your appearance. This procedure lifts the underlying facial structures, rather than the older technique of simply removing skin (creating a more unnatural look). Incisions are placed in the natural creases around the ears or within the hairline where they are imperceptible. Full facial rejuvenation often also includes a brow lift to soften the forehead creases and restore drooping eyebrows to a natural, youthful position.

Eyelid surgery

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is an opportunity to reduce the appearance of tired, puffy eyes and heavy eyelids. Eyelids that have developed excess skin or fat can not only give your face a tired appearance, but they can also cause eye strain or affect peripheral vision. Eyelid surgery for men helps to alleviate the appearance of drooping eyelids for a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.

What does male breast reduction involve?

The procedure involves various techniques depending on both the shape and size of the breasts, or the type of tissue needing removed. In some cases, only liposuction may be necessary. In other cases, the procedure may be combined with excision surgery and/or nipple surgery, to achieve the client’s overall goal of a defined, masculine chest appearance.

Nipple reduction

Men who have gynecomastia or excess and stretched skin in the breast area after weight loss may also have large or stretched areola or enlarged nipples. Some men are also genetically disposed to having larger nipples. Large nipples can be a source of embarrassment, and a nipple reduction procedure can be performed to give them the confidence to go shirtless at the beach and feel more confident during intimate situations. The nipple and the areola (colored area around the nipple) can be reduced surgically so the nipples appear a smaller size and improved shape.

Liposuction

Removing stubborn fat from certain areas of your body may require more than consistent workouts. Often, having a healthy diet and a regular exercise routine are not enough to resolve some body areas where fat is lodged. This is where liposuction can help you. Liposuction can target practically any area of the body such as:

BOTOX

BOTOX injections are among the most popular non-surgical procedures performed today, and are becoming increasingly popular among men as well. BOTOX smooths areas of the face that have developed fine lines, wrinkles, or heavier creases, commonly injected around the eyes or forehead. This multi-functional treatment stops the muscle action just below the surface of the skin which then prevents the area from wrinkling prematurely and smooths current dynamic wrinkles – those caused by constant expressions such as concentrating, focusing, or frowning.

Facial fillers

Facial fillers can be used to increase the volume in areas of the face that have lost the look of youth, such as at temples, chin, or cheeks. Also, heavier creases such as those around the nose, and mouth can be treated so that they are reduced in depth and size. Facial fillers can also be used as a non-surgical option for chin and jaw enhancement, although the results will not be as long lasting as those obtained through surgical means.

Kybella

Kybella is an injectable solution that reduces fat, particularly under the chin. Treatments with Kybella can give you a more defined chin and jawline by simply reducing the fat cells that have lodged below the chin. This is a great option if you are seeking a non-surgical option for fat reduction below the chin.
