What is BOTOX®?

It is a neuromuscular blocking agent that is administered as an injection into the tiny muscles responsible for smiling, frowning and squinting. The compound temporarily paralyzes the muscles, prohibiting the muscles from creasing your overlying skin and forming new wrinkles.

Why trust our providers with your BOTOX®?

With the rise of minimally-invasive treatments such as BOTOX®, there are many important things to keep in mind when it comes to choosing a provider that may offer the aesthetic service. The more training a provider has, the better equipped they are to deliver aesthetic treatments effectively and safely. Choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon or nurse practitioner who is rigorously trained and highly experienced will confirm that your injector is well-trained in facial anatomy and fully prepared to handle any complications in the event that something goes wrong!

Microbotox Skin Rejuvenation

When used superficially and in microdroplets, BOTOX® can be infused into the skin using a microneedling technique. It acts on the sebaceous glands activity and reduces skin's oil production and pore size. The complexion appears revitalized and youthful. BOTOX® is applied with ultra- thin needles to maximize comfort.

PERK plastic surgery prioritizes patient comfort and can provide topical numbing for clients who find injections to be anxiety-producing. During your initial consultation, your provider will give you a detailed analysis of your face and customize the most optimal BOTOX® treatment for you.

How does BOTOX® for migraines work?

In 2010, the FDA approved BOTOX® for migraines in those 18 or older, and ever since then many patients have been enjoying relief from chronic, debilitating migraine headache with BOTOX® injections. Dr. Lee was the lead author in the study that showed patients who respond to BOTOX® injections also did well with migraine surgery. Chronic migraines means an intense and long-lasting headache for more than 15 days per month.

BOTOX® is injected to paralyze the muscles that compress the nerve endings on your head that triggers migraines.

How often will I need BOTOX® for migraines?

Most clients will require 2-3 sessions in order to experience comprehensive improvement in their migraines. Our Los Angeles BOTOX for headaches results usually last up to 12 weeks at a time. Patients in a clinical trial reported that just 2 BOTOX® treatments helped diminish the number of headache days to half its original number. At PERK Plastic surgery, we will obtain a detailed history of your migraine headaches and require our patients to be under the care of a neurologist.

After completely understanding the triggers of your migraines, the typical BOTOX® injections for headaches lasts no more than 20 minutes. The BOTOX® will be injected into your headache trigger sites, usually your forehead, temples and back of your neck. The injections are usually described as feeling like a “pinprick”. Depending on the number of trigger sites, up to 31 injections can be performed in a single session.
