What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is one of the most popular fillers in the world. It is comprised of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin. The purpose of Juvederm is to replace lost facial volume. It is often used to improve lines, nasolabial folds, build cheek bones, increase lip fullness and replenish volume loss. Within the Juvederm family of products, each formulation differs based on consistency and thickness. We will help you to choose the best Juvederm product to fit your individual aesthetic goals. At PERK, we emphasize safety and only use dermal fillers that can be completely reversed or dissolved. Here is a brief introduction to some of the Juvederm products.

Juvederm Volbella XC

Juvederm Volbella XC is one of the softest and subtlest fillers specially formulated with Vycross technology, a proprietary technology from the pharmaceutical giant Allergan. With Vycross, three types of potent hyaluronic acids are blended to create a surplus of moisture, resilience and suppleness. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found to organically occur in the human body, and is responsible for the skin’s structural integrity.

Juvederm Volbella is commonly used as a lip filler. One of the hallmarks of youth is full and soft lips. As we age, the lips begin to thin and form tiny vertical lines and creases. Clients have consistently rated the lips as among the most important areas of the face that they wish to improve.

Is there any downtime or recovery expected for Juvederm Volbella XC?

Juvederm treatment is typically without any major side effects, so you will be able to return to your normally scheduled activities right away. Some minor swelling, bruising and tenderness may unfold, but these symptoms usually resolve quickly.

You should avoid strenuous activities such as lifting weights or aerobics for at least 24 hours. You can return to Dr. Lee’s Los Angeles offices to repeat your treatment in approximately 12 months.

Who makes a good candidate for treatment with Juvederm Volbella XC?

Good candidates for Volbella are over 21 years of age and are in good mental and physical health. They should have reasonable expectations for their outcome based on their private consultation with Dr. Lee in Beverly Hills. Anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding or who is currently suffering from a cold sore or oral infection will not be considered for Volbella.
