What is BOTOX?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When BOTOX is used for cosmetic purposes, it paralyzes the\nfacial muscles into which it is injected, relaxing those muscles to smooth\nlines and creases. When BOTOX hit the market, patients who used it for cosmetic\nreasons told their doctors they were experiencing fewer headaches. Doctors\nbegan to study this reaction and found that these injections were an effective\ntreatment for the prevention of migraines. When used to treat migraines, BOTOX\nis injected into the muscles of the face and neck that spasm, the underlying\ncause of most debilitating migraines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What to expect during treatment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Injections with BOTOX are non-invasive, require no downtime\nfollowing treatment, and may be performed in as little as 30 minutes in our\nchic, comfortable, Beverly Hills offices. Dr. Lee will administer a series of\ntiny injections along your head and neck. If you experience migraines on one\nside more than the other, special attention may be paid to those areas. You\nshould notice relief two to three weeks following treatment and will need to\nreceive maintenance injections once every twelve weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are there side effects of BOTOX for migraines? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n
